Why are the holidays so busy?

Friday, July 4th, 2008

Granted, the 4th of July isn’t as hectic as Christmas. However, I just can’t help but wonder why are holidays so busy? Usually holidays are even crazier for me than work days. Since I have fibromyalgia, I would really like to spend the day off of work resting, sleeping, enjoying the quiet, reading books. Instead, I feel like I need a holiday from the holidays.

Dear World,

Holidays are for relaxing. Please get a clue.

Am I a writer? When to call it quits

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

Ok, so I’m an entire six pages into the book I’m trying to write. Impressive, no? I like the story that I’m writing. I think it has potential & I may even be able to write about 12 pages :P If my character investigates life insurance no medical exam possibilities I may be able to get 13 pages. Yes, I’m reaching that much. However, last night I thought of an even better idea that would require me to start all over.

For some reason I’m reluctant to do so. I’m invested in these six pages. Besides, I want to know what happens to my character. It reminds me of when the show Friends ended & Jennifer Aniston said in an interview something like “What happened to Rachel? Where did she go? What is she doing now?” So I guess this means that I should finish this book & then write another one. We shall see. At the very least I’ll follow this story line as far as I can.

Finding comfort with fibromyalgia

For years I’ve been on the quest to find a comfortable way to sleep. I’ve tried all kinds of beds but it’s just so difficult when I feel like I have princess & the pea syndrome. Usually I wake up with my back hurting more than when I went to sleep.

Today I was surprised at how comfortable a hammock is. I may even try sleeping in it some nights. Granted, it’s not a rope hammock so I don’t have thousands of ropes digging into my muscles. It really seemed to relax my back, neck & shoulders.
