Whoa! Blogger has Pages?
A few years ago if you would’ve asked “Which is better Blogger or WordPress?” most professional bloggers would have laughed. Granted, they probably still will laugh. However, since Blogger implemented the feature where you can select to post something in the future it started to catch up. Then it offered gadgets which really made it a lot easier to customize compared to WordPress. I’ve always liked the Blogger software for beginners just because I think it’s easier to use. Sure WordPress can do anything except act as a diet supplement, but it’s not as easy to change out templates and customize them without knowing code. Granted, I think the whole subdomain/ TOS/randomly marked as spam thing will be a problem forever. That’s one of the reasons why I wouldn’t recommend Blogger or any free host for a money making blog.
However, today Blogger made another stride. Well actually they added it awhile ago. (I searched for the exact date but couldn’t find it.) However, I just noticed it today so it’s a pretty big deal to me. Blogger has pages. Finally! At first I saw a tab that said “Edit Pages”. I thought “You mean posts right?” Then I clicked on it and it was really a page. This is different than a post because it’s like an About section that will always appear on your page. Right now Blogger is limiting you to ten of these pages. You can customize it and move it around or change the format. Now really one of the only glaring differences left between WordPress and Blogger is that on Blogger you can’t set posts to private, only your entire blog. Is Blogger finally catching up?
