The Perils of Working from Home
Even though I work from home I still have difficulties with my job causing my fibromyalgia to get worse. I can’t sit at a desk for longer then five minutes without my back burning for the rest of the day. As such I usually work on the couch but after a few hours my neck starts to burn. Then I have to switch to another room so my body doesn’t get too stiff. The other room doesn’t have a lamp in it so I have to work with the direct lights on which makes my eyes hurt after too long. I practically need cross country movers to carry my laptop around as I search for comfort. It seems like no matter what I do I go to bed with a bad headache every day. I’m grateful for the job I do have but it still takes a lot out of me.
One of my biggest problems has been the weight of the laptop causing my legs to hurt. I’ve just recently started putting it on top of a laptop desk on top of a pillow to alleviate some of the weight which seems to help somewhat. Even when I’m not asleep I’m still the Princess and the Pea.
