Seeing Things in Steps
One of the little parts of fibromyalgia is being able to see things in steps when other people would automatically just do it without having to think of everything that is involved. I remember a request to go to a certain store which really wasn’t a big deal but I thought “Do you know how many steps I’m going to have to take just to get into the door?”
Last week I was really sick but something had to be mailed out that day. I could just see in steps everything I had to do and it just seemed impossible. I had to get the package ready, print out a label, tape the label to the envelope and seal the envelope. Then I had to put on makeup and shoes and drive to the Post Office and get out my car. My car worked fine I didn’t need roadside assistance, but just getting dressed was overwhelming. Then I had to drive home and take off my shoes to get comfortable again. Each one of those things was a small feat and I ended up doing it, but it was a lot of work. Do any other fibromites out there see everything in steps?

Seeing things in steps looks little bit weird but it can be possible in your case

I definitely can relate to what you’re saying. I do this, too, but kind of thought everyone did! It’s the only way I can really manage with fibromyalgia. Baby steps.

Yes, I think about the steps of everything. My Fibro makes it where I can’t drive over half of the time, so my husband and I only have one car. When I can drive, my husband has a tendency to ask me if I can go here or pick that up while he is at work. I can’t really blame him, he works a lot of extra hours since I don’t have a job. Anyway, there was once he asked me to go get donuts for his office and I just started crying. I was certain that the driving, getting out of the car, getting our toddler out of car, standing in line ect. would be enough to do me in for the day.
