Fibro on Yahoo News
I was looking at the Yahoo homepage on Sunday & thought, “Ohh I know that word.” It was fibromyalgia. For awhile, I thought that Yahoo had a new search plan to spy on me to better tailor their results to my needs. They have to compete with google somehow right? Let’s face it fibromyalgia just isn’t in the news all that much.
So, the article was already off to a bad start with me for being called “Drugmakers’ push boosts ‘murky’ ailment” No, I didn’t do the quotes around murky, they did that. Granted, I have fibro fog right now so I really can’t see the point of the article or the big deal. Apparently drug makers are educating people about fibromyalgia because they will benefit if people get treatment. It’s called business. If you had a company selling travel insurance you’d make commercials about travel, not about dogs. To me, it’s just common sense. People who make drugs for fibromyalgia, advertise for fibromyalgia.
Granted, we all know how much I hate the lyrica commercials, but I think the more people that talk about it, the better. I didn’t think we needed another ‘article’ out there about whether fibromyalgia really exists. (Yes, I used vindictive air quotes around the word article.) It used the word ‘murky’ in the article too. Apparently, that is the only way to describe the disease.

Arggg!!! Amen to the hatred of those Lyrica commercials. They mean it when they say it doesn’t work for everyone though!!!! I tried it… made it worse… got off it 6 mths later… better for it.
You are sooo right about this! The more talk, the better. Just the right kind of talk. Hopefully we can all make up for it in the blogosphere!!

you are very right about talking it. Actually the people who are suffering from it knows better. Those so called experts out there just wanted to sell something or try to make something not sell. They don’t really care about those people but they do care bout there jobs and money.
