An encyclopedia I ain’t
I pen long emails everyday. I love to blog. I love to write. My heroes growing up were Anne of Green Gables & Jo March. A friend told me that you were a writer if you could make something simple like a golf pencil seem interesting. I came up with three story ideas for a golf pencil that I thought were funny. Give me any topic like a diet product & I can think of an unusual story. I’m not tooting my own horn here, just keep reading for all of the self doubt.
So, writing for a living seemed like a natural fit, especially since there are a lot of jobs I can’t do because of fibro. I signed up with a few article companies & got to work. I really enjoy sites like ehow & bukisa because I get to pick the topic. It’s not even the topic that bothers me so much as being forced to be creative in a certain way. I hate how for some companies I have to cite every single sentence. It’s just so tedious & not fun. I’m going to keep going with it because of the money & I really want to succeed at this. It takes me a lot longer to write than the people I read about on other forums. Hopefully in time the research will become second nature & I’ll find my voice for this style. It just drove home the fact that I’m really not that informative, I’m opinionated. I just need to find a writing gig that fits with that.

Wow! -Shakes with excitement- I can’t believe I came across your blog! You and I are going through the same things, and I too chose to become a fibr-freelancer for a living. My focus is on web design (you can see my portfolio here: http://www.mariegoodart.com). I would absolutely love to become pen-pals with you, and perhaps together we can cook up some ideas on how to help others just like us.
I’m 23.

Do online writing jobs really pay well? What are the avenues that I can explore?
