I’ve been unable to work in a traditional office for several years due to fibromyalgia. So, I work from home & it’s ok. Utah has announced that almost all of the state workers are switching to 4 day work weeks. Granted, they’ll be working something like 10 hours a day (11 hours including lunch break).
They are saying the switch is so they can save energy by shutting down building on Friday. I thought it might be nice, every week will be like a holiday. However, I’m sure it will be a pain because my DMV is already only open like 12 hours a week. Time will tell.
I was thinking how this would effect fibromyalgia if I ever worked for the state. I’d have another day each week to recover & rest, but 11 hour days? Would you rather have a four day work week or a five day work week if you had to work the same hours?
