Zune Premium Earplugs
It’s funny that I’ve had fibromyalgia for half of my life, but I’m still not used to some things, like how noise effects me. Everything just seems too loud & grates on my nerves. It just seems like sound is something I can’t cope with. So I was excited to try the zune premium earplugs that I won on Live Search Club.
These were my first pair of ear buds that actually go inside the ear canal. It really drowns out the sound. I like that they come with three different sizes of ear bud. By fair the best headphones I’ve owned, but I’ve only had them a few days. There is some risk of ear infection (Yikes!) , so I’m being careful to keep them clean. It’s definately an unexpected coping mechanism, if only I could sleep while listening to music. For some reason I need absolute quiet.

I can’t stand having anything in my ears
I find that white noise, like a fan, helps block out other noises without being as distracting as music.

Instead of music, I listen to books on tape, usually narated by someone with a soothing voice. When I wake up, the story keeps me from thinking about the cares of the day, and the voice woos me back to sleep. I used to wake up in the middle of the night and not be able to get back to sleep for hours, if at all. Now, I get anywhere from 7-9 hours sleep each night.
