Warm weather & fibromyalgia

Great, now warm weather is bothering me. I’m used to cold weather equaling a fibro flare. So in Utah that means that I’m in a flare from November-May. (It actually snowed several inches yesterday) However, in between the snow there were several 80-90 degree days last week.

For some reason my back/neck/shoulders were just in intense pain the entire time. I couldn’t alleviate it no matter what I did. It hurt to just look at the computer screen. I know that cold weather bothers me, but now warm weather is bothering me. Has anyone else experienced this?

The downside to working from home

The only thing that I don’t like about working from home is that it’s always available. There is no one to kick me out of the office & say “It’s a three day weekend.” Instead my work is always on my computer saying “Hey, Sara, come work.” I can’t relax knowing it’s there.

I feel so much better when I just get it all done. That’s the only way I can really relax & then watch a movie in theater seating. The only problem is that there is always tons to be done. I never finish. So I rarely get to relax. Holidays don’t feel like holidays because I have my work beckoning to me. Any ideas on how to change this?

It’s a lot like fibro

Granted, Gilmore Girls isn’t about fibromyalgia. However, I saw a scene that really reminded me of fibromyalgia. It was in the episode called “Let the Games Begin”. Rory & Lorelai had just finished a 24 hour dance marathon & their feet were killing them & they were too tired to move. They were sitting talking about how far away their coffee place is. It’s only a block away but they just can’t make it. So instead they just try & use their mind powers to move Luke’s closer to them.

Fibromyalgia isn’t about not being able to run marathons, although it wouldn’t hurt to use golf bags once in awhile on a good day. Fibromyalgia is knowing exactly how many steps it’s going to take you to walk somewhere because it’s just so painful & exhausting. If only I had a dollar for every time I tried to move something iwth my mind because I was too tired to walk to it.
