How many steps do you take in a day?
I saw on the TV that the average person takes 18,000 steps a day. This made me very tired. I often feel like I can measure how many steps it will take to get to the bathroom, or to the grocery store, just because each one takes so much effort with fibromyalgia. I wonder how many steps people with jobs in San Francisco have to take, walking up that hill I always see on TV?
I’ve wanted a pedometer so when someone asks “Sara…do you want to go out dancing?” I can say “No, that’s 1473 steps. Are you insane?” A 25 year old dreaming of a pedometer, welcome to fibromyalgia.

I’ve never bothered counting, but my guess is quite a few. 18k steps seems a bit excessive though.

I own a pedometer and use it when I exercise. It’s really quite helpful. You should give it a try

Wow, I did not realise we walked 18,000 steps in one day. Sounds exhausting even for the most athletic person. I am going to have to test this for myself with a pedometer

I’ve been looking online and different sites say different amounts. The average seems to be about 10,000 though.

I don’t think that the average person takes 18,000 steps a day. I think the number is somewhat lower. However, walking on a regular basis is certainly one of the easiest ways to stay healthy. Walk more, track your results with pedometer and keep up with good life.
