When I wake up in the morning, I feel like I’ve just been through a fight. I’ve tried all kind of different beds to see if something will help with fibromyalgia or at least not feel like it was burning my skin & muscles. I’ve tried expensive beds & never found the right number. I finally settled on a pillow top with a piece of foam on top of it.
The only problem with this was the foam would move slightly. If you have fibromyalgia you know that the slightest wrinkle in a sheet can feel like it’s being indented in your skin. So, I would have to wake up three or four times a night, tear the bed apart, & fix the foam. This didn’t seem like too much of a hassle, that’s how important a good bed is with fibromyalgia. The other day I was so frustrated that I was considering just duct taping the foam to the bed. Then I found a roll of two sided carpet tape & put it between the mattress & foam. The next morning I woke up & it was still in place. Best of all, I felt less like the hunchback of Notre Dame, & my shoulders weren’t burning. Seeing the difference it made I’m considering buying a 4″ memory foam topper, but I’m wary of spending the money without knowing how fibromyalgia will respond to it. Has anyone tried memory foam?

I tried a memory foam pillow. I took it back after a couple of nights.
I’ll tell you what does work, though. The Cuddle Ewe underquilt. It’s expensive but it really works.
the foam on my bedding moves around considerably as well… I have been considering one of those tempurpedic beds in the future, but they are so expensive (but oh so comfortable).
i have fibro and we just purchased a rhapsody tempurpedic bed. we had the pillowtop celebrity, but it also caused me problems, all pillowtops do. the rhapsody is much better. it’s odd at first because your muscles have to readjust to not being on a spring bed. but now i actually sleep through the night and find I want to get up. oh, i still hurt but at least i sleep better.
You need to relax. Don’t think any negative things.

hi, Actually the foam on my bed moves considerably.
Its strange that tempurpedic beds also was of no use.
Good day
The endless search for foams.. If only our pockets don’t ever complain.
We just got a temperpedic memory foam bed; and it has improved my sleep and the aches and pains in the mornings. I highly recommend it for anyone with FMS or those with back or hip problems. My husband has shoulder problems and arthritus and is astonished at how good he feels in the morning. We have nickamed the bed the “narco-bed.” As it’s better than any narcotics for controlling our aches and pains, and enduring a restful night of sleep.
Best money we have spent since the jacuzzi.
