I decided to give the “do follow” movement a chance a few months ago because I think the people that comment here are wicked awesome. I thought that they deserved a little link juice in return for commenting, & they do.

My main concern was spam. So far, my plugins have caught most of the spam increase. However, I have gotten a lot of comments from people looking to promote their sites in ways that I thought were spammy, or they’d just leave two word comments like “nice site”. It’s true, I do have a nice site, thank you for noticing.

So, I’m changing my policy. I’ve started using Lucia’s Linky Love plugin. (Try saying that three times fast). You will still get a dofollow to your site, but only after a certain number of comments, the number is quite low but hopefully it will help with the “not wicked awesome” comments.
