The Office

I think one of the reasons that "The Office" has been such a popular TV show is because it is so relatable.  It’s one of the few shows with an ensemble cast that shares a lot of the stage. There aren’t really central people, or much of a plot line. Most of the people aren’t the type you usually see on TV.  By all means, it shouldn’t be popular.  It is though, simply because so many people feel like they’ve worked in that office.

We’ve all had a boss that had no idea how to manage people, or what was going on in the company.  You know, the guy you have to avoid if you want to get any actual work done. We’ve all had experiences with eccentric coworkers.  We’ve all looked forward to the end of the workday, so we understand, & we see the absurdity in it & it makes us laugh. I think we can all agree that it’s funny to watch, it’s nice to see it once a week & mock it.

However, we don’t want to work there. We want to work for a company where we feel like our presence is making a difference. After all most of us spend more time with our coworkers than we do with our families, so it’s horrible when we don’t get along with these people.  The stress can even effect our health. Sadly, there don’t seem to be many such companies out there that people really enjoy working for. I wish more people would look into Executive Coaching. The Forte Institute offers performance tools online, which translate into real life results. I think if we all learn how to communicate better, the office will be a much happier, more productive place to be.
