Ewww day two

Ok, so I just finished up a lot of the EWWW stuff, which is the project I am doing to try to clean up all the odds & ends around the old business, all the stuff that I know I should do but never get around to because it isn’t fun. I tightened up the templates, I deleted all the bookmarks & rss feeds that I don’t use. It’s a task that I have been thinking about for months. I’ve just refused to do it, & it took 11 minutes. Yes, 11 entire minutes. It wasn’t worth all the worry I’ve put into it, & I really should just take care of issues as I think of them. The only problem is that for everything that I finish, I seem to think of three or four more things to do.  I really need to start writing these down on a list so I don’t lay awake at night thinking "Remember, don’t forget, remember".

The work laugh

I’m always interested in the role that humor has in the workplace. I think that my personality is one of my best assets. However if I’m dealing with lots of different people it’s a given that about only 35% will really find me funny.  That leaves a lot of room open for people to be confused & offended.

Remember that episode of FRIENDS where Chandeler laughs differently at work? I find myself trying to taper my personality into something more suitable for work.  I guess humor can help you get ahead in business, when used correctly, but it’s definitely something that I need to work on. So I was interested to read this article about how humor can help you at work.  It really got me thinking what is & isn’t work appropriate.  I really don’t agree with several of the things that are mentioned in this article, while others tips are great advice, so I thought I would go over & try to figure out exactly what my work personality should be. I need to find a balance, because I’m definitely not boring, but I don’t want my humor to hurt me.

Ewww: My brain is broken

I don’t know why I decided I should submit to 63 blog carnivals.  It’s an odd number to begin with, especially considering the fact that it’s humanly impossible. I just spent an hour submitting to 15 & my head feels like mush.  It seriously feels like if I lean my head to the side, my brain will just drip out. I finally found something worse than fibro fog, it’s called submitting to too many carnivals fog.  They really should have a warning label about it.  That sentence didn’t make a lot of sense, but that’s how bad the too many carnivals fog is. I just hope it hasn’t done serious damage. I guess this is why I’m calling this particular experiment EWWW.
