Follow Me
Update 7-26-2007: I’m still a do-follower, but you must reach a certain number of comments before you receive your link.
Remember when I did that experiment to leave 1,000 genuine comments in 30 days to try & help with SEO? A few weeks ago I read that blogger had all comment links disabled with nofollow links. D’oh. At least there were still all of those wordpress blogs right? Nope, they all had nofollow in them too.
The more I read about nofollow, the more I decided that it didn’t do the one thing it was supposed to do, keep out spam. All the nofollow tags were doing is not giving links to my faithful commenters, so I decided to become a dofollower. That’s right, I’ve removed the nofollow tags on comments so they will be followed by search engines (as long as they aren’t spam). Here is a list of more blogs that do follow.

Yay - good call. nofollow was, like many things (e.g. catchpa) a great idea on paper - and that’s where it should have stayed. Google is more than capable of identifying spam on its own without us bloggers helping out.

LOL - I started this list, and yet, my blogs aren’t on it anymore?

Great stuff, i enabled dofollow on my blog also a while back, it definitely is nice to reward people that comment. As for spam, akismet plugin doesn the trick

Ok dumb question … on my blog when I roll over a commentors name it shows their web address in the status bar, does that mean I don’t have no-follow on?

I agree with you 100% - things happen for a reason. I found this by accident and noticed that we have some things in common. Thats what I love about the Internet, every blog is like a box of chocolates
Thanks - Great blog.
