If you are one of the cool kids in the blogosphere, you probably heard about the Evil Nintendo Wii Blog Contest. where John Chow gave away a chance to win a Wii to anyone who would link to him with the phrase “root of all evil”. I saw this phrase all over the internet, & went to his site several times & thought “Hmmm he doesn’t look evil”. He did this to demonstrate how important anchor text is, as he skyrocketed up to number three for that search term. I didn’t enter because I don’t know what the Wii is, & thought it should go to someone that would actually get good use out of it. I’m a giver that way, I’m not evil either.

John Chow is trying it again with the phrase make money online. Link to him with that phrase, review his blog & he’ll link back to your article, & your homepage. The really neat part is that he will even let you choose the anchor text for your homepage link, which is quite extraordinary from a blogger of this caliber. Just one more thing that goes against his case of being evil, let alone the root of all evil. I wonder if the key terms “not evil”, or “all around nice blogger”, gets a lot of hits?
