Find the masses
I’ve seen it time & time again, several times in the just 18 months that I’ve been working from home. Person has a great idea, person starts business & sits back & waits for the masses to come to them. Person ultimately fails. I’m not really a "people person" & I would love the masses to just come to me, but I’m finding out that it’s a lot of work, but it pays off in the end. It can be next to impossible to promote your business, unless you think outside of the box.
One thing I’ve never thought of was going to trade shows. This can be a great way to get your name out there & make a lot of contacts with people that you would never meet otherwise. "Bulletz of Knowledge" is also an interesting blog to read because it’s about a woman trying to make it in a field that is usually dominated by men. I think too often we just work on promoting our businesses on the Internet & forget that is a whole wide world outside that we need to be reaching as well.
