One thing that I had to come to grips with in order to make my business work was that I am not the blogging equivalent of Britney Spears. I will probably never be a famous blogger. I like to think of it as the difference between people who work for minimum wage & people who have trust funds. Only a few of us can make it big. However, most of us can get some sort of job.
I had to start thinking outside of my blog. I had to realize that my readers aren’t privileged to have me, it’s the other way around. I had to build my readership I had to help other people build their businesses & link together. There are so many other people out there who want to make money blogging, or who want to help their business grow. I can help them do that & help myself at the same time. However they aren’t going to find me most of the time. I have to go out & look for them & comment on their blogs & link to them & support them. Plus, I get to make new friends. "If you build it, they will come" doesn’t apply here. It’s something I’m still working on & will be for a long time to come.
