The Sugarless Experiment
Here is a collection of all my posts about the sugarless experiment. I tried to go 30 days without eating refined sugar, & it was a colossal failure. I was hoping this would give me more energy & a clearer mind to run my business with. Well maybe it wasn’t a failure, my expectations were just too high. I wanted to lose tons of weight & just have my whole life turn around. I was also curious to see if not eating sugar would effect mood. It seems that eating chocolate has a negative effect on my anxiety, but I don’t think sugar does, it just helps me make it through the day. However I learned a lot about myself, & about trying to diet with fibromyalgia.

I am also way impressed. I did it for a week (also no wheat, etc) but it was seriously difficult.

I have to say the same as the last two comment did, I’m impressed that you attempted 30 days. Just remember, nothing ventured, nothing gained. You learned something from it and that is important.

I too gave up sugar in an attempt to lose weight and relieve fibro symptoms. The first time I did it, it lasted for a few weeks and then halloween and christmas rolled around and I gave up.
The second time I went much more mild – like if I really wanted something I would have it, but not very much, and not every day. It went much better, and I have lost weight.
And you definitely have to give up grahams and yogurt – they have tons of sugar in them.
I wanted to leave you a comment to tell you that I don’t think you have to manage fibromyalgia. I managed to reverse it. It took me five years, but I did it. I no longer have any symptoms, and each year was better than the last. my site about it is here: http://www.releasefibromyalgia.com/

Often, there are many ingredients that can cause symptoms to flare-up. It would be of greater benefit to exclude a set of food products such as all gluten products, dairy, and refined sugars in order to maximize your efforts in finding relief. If you are working hard to avoid one, minus well avoid a group of foods instead.
If you would like to exclude only the common sugars, it is of great benefit to substitute this with stevia instead. Stevia has been used for decades and is a much healthier choice, as it is derived naturally from a plant.
