Casual Friday

One of my favorite things about having my own business is that I set the dress code. This is very important because little things like shoes make all the difference to my fibromyalgia & determine if I’ll be able to work for 2 hours or 6 hours. Plus, it determines my entire mood throughout the day.

I was reading this article that listed ten jobs that let you dress casually at work. I’m not talking about casual Friday, or as it is otherwise known “Wear a polo shirt & khakis day”. There were some interesting suggestions like a restaurant manager. Personally, I think anyone in the food industry should be dressed well. Otherwise, I will feel sick to my stomach when I eat. In fact, I think that all of these professions should dress nicely, yes you can probably get away with jeans & a tshirt as long as they fit well & are clean, but it’s not leaving the best impression of the company that you work for. Not that I’m one to talk, with my whole hatred of shoes. I just think that having a casual dress code is just as difficult as being told what to wear to work everyday because it’s up to the individual to figure out what is inappropriate & what it isn’t. However, all of the jobs paid under $50,000. Do people really pick jobs based on this?
