Dealing with Holiday Stress
Holidays are a time for family, happiness, reconnecting & stress. For most people this is just part of the season, but for a fibromite it can start to effect one’s health. Here are a few ways that I need to work on this year. If any of you see me not doing any of these things, please kick me. Any suggestions you have for dealing with holiday stress, please leave a comment. Wow not good sentence structure by me, but in the spirit of this post, I’m just going to let it go.
Simplify: Cut back on the decorating, gift giving, working & celebrations just a little.
Breathe: Seems like a pretty general thing, but sometimes I forget, & it seems like I’ve been holding my breath.
Remember: This Season I’m going to remember what is really important to me & forget all of the psuedo important things.
Time out: Sometimes I look at the little kids & wish someone would send me to time out. I will find a quiet place to go to, if even just for a few minutes.
Laugh: This will help me not take or hopefully give offense. I’m going to try to enjoy my time with family & friends this season.
