How I make it through the Holidays
Christmas is about giving…to me. When I turned 15, my brother thought “What should I get for my sister, a cd, or maybe a shirt, hey I know, a tomahawk”. I still have that tomahawk, (Only because it is only a gift a brother would give) but let’s face it, a lot of times we don’t get what we want. True, it’s not all about us, but every year I try to buy myself a little something to celebrate making it through the stress of the holidays. One year a foot massager, lots of earrings, Gilmore Girls DVD’s, just something to celebrate the holiday in my own way. I’ve never bought myself another tomahawk, but there is always time. This helps me make it through the season because I have something to look forward, an incentive to not throw rolls at people during dinner, just a happy though to help me keep things together.

I agree with you about a ‘self treat’ for the holidays – I find it stressful enough without having the added burden of having to be ‘nice’ to everyone.
