Blogitive Review: Part Deux

Here are the pro’s & con’s I experienced with Blogitive.

Pros
1. Doesn’t depend on recruiting other people like most survey & paid to read e-mail sites.
2. The work was relatively easy.
3. Customer Service always replied promptly & politely.
4. Paid on time, through paypal, & paid the amount promised. For an internet company this is very high praise.
5. Payouts made on a weekly basis.
6. It was fun, in a nerdy sort of way.
7. Given a 2nd chance to fix mistakes & then gain acceptance.
8. You can sign up with multiple blogs. I didn’t have any trouble getting my blogs accepted. One wasn’t, & I jsut e-mailed & asked why? They said it should have been accepted & added it for me.

Cons
1. Rules are hard to find.
2. When a rule changed, all the posts I had submitted for approval in the last few hours had to be done over, instead of having some notice of the rule change. A post or e-mail saying all posts after this time must be done like this would’ve been helpful. Instead it was simply “change effective immediately” & by immediately they meant yesterday.
3. Sporadic work. I would receive several offers & then nothing for weeks & weeks.
4. Have to fight for it. You are competing with lots of other bloggers for offers, they go in minutes. So you ahve to constantly log into Blogitive to see if you have any offers.
5. There aren’t clear instructions on how to do the html to link to the advertisers using specific keywords.
6. I don’t heart the new rules. For me, they would’ve made my blog seem too “spammy”. My blogs would have turned into something even I didn’t want to read.
7. For me, I only had 48 hours to do an offer, which was fine. However, the first few offers I did needed to be corrected. I still only had the original 48 hours to make the changes even though sometimes I wasn’t alerted that changes were needed until I only had less than 10 minutes left. So I missed a few of my offers. It was ok I just deleted the ones that weren’t accepted.
8. Have to leave the link on for a year, while I think Payperpost is only a month.

These sites aren’t really “Paid to blog”, like they claim. They are paid to link. Yes, you do have to write a small ad, but I think of it as selling some ad space on my blog, the link seems to be what they are after. So to recap, I would probably consider Blogitive, or Payperpost if I was in a bind for money. I am grateful that they gave me a much needed boost.  The extra money made me think, this can work.  This is true, it can work, but the best way, at least for me is to just keep plodding along. It was good while it lasted. What was your experience with Blogitive or other “paid to link” sites? (Ok, so I keep putting “paid to link” in quotes like it is an actual phrase people say.  I am hoping it will catch on. Pass it around).  Do you notice these ads or sponsored links when reading a blog?  If so how do you feel about them?

I get really cranky when I feel sucked in. So, when ads are flashing, or (one of the latest things) flashing over a place where you have to make a menu click so if your timing is a hair off you’re in the middle of an ad I feel suckered. As ads get more intrusive and agressive I find myself getting more unwilling to click on anything. The old marketing rule says it doesn’t matter if you annoy them they will still remember your name. I make it a point not to read anything flashing at me or intruding over text so if I actually do end up with a product name in front of my face I rememeber that product or company very well. As people find ways around obnoxious ads on TV, the industry keeps acting like American car companies. They keep doing the wrong things bigger and louder.

    My rant for the day.

There was an ad on your site for psychics. Oddly enough I tried that and I can assure you that if you have any psychic ability at all you cannot work for those kinds of companies. So, if you see a psychic hot line you can be guaranteed that no one answering the phone will have the tiniest speck of psychic talent. LOL.

I have joined blogitive last month and their rules are getting tougher. Now they need 2 unpaid blog posts in between two paid posts.
