Happy thoughts and pain management
When you are in a lot of pain what do you do or think of to feel better? What is your happy place? Share what keeps you going by adding some comments. Mine are:
1. Hugging a pillow. Hugs release endorphins, and endorphins are our friends.
2. My happy place is Stars Hallow, Connecticut. This isn’t an actual town but is the setting for my favorite TV show “Gilmore Girls”, which I’m pretty sure has healing properties.
3. A friend had a really bad flu this winter and said in amazement, “I was too sick to read even or watch TV”. I often feel this way. When I’m in a lot of pain I try to distract myself by reading a book, but sometimes the fibro fog is just too much. So I look at things that are sparkly (I know sounds like a cat), such as a chandelier or my favorite ring, this helps me relax.
4. One of my favorite memories is a few months ago, after an entire year of work, I made my first dollar. My mom and I jumped on the couch. On discouraging days when I don’t feel like working, or I don’t believe in my business, I remember this and smile.
5. Sitting in front of our gas fireplace because it is the only place I feel warm in the winter.

absolutely there is no other place to get warmth in that cold climate and ice around you. the fireplace is also a place of getting together as family and sharing all your memories.

I usually try and meditate when pain gets to me. I sit and let go of my thoughts as they come to me. I focus on the infinate smallness around me.
